Since Buffalo Springs 70.3, my training has been spotty. I haven't been able to keep up the momentum I had built earlier in the summer. It always seems to be one thing or the other - illness, laziness (mostly), injuries. I think the lazy came because I just want to spend time with my family. I miss going out and riding and running with my IronWhiner friends, but hanging out with my husband and son is just awesome. Liam is growing so quickly and reaching milestones galore. It's so cool to have him come over and grab my finger, basically saying "Let's take a walk!"
Right now, I've got a bum knee (I think IT band issues). I'm going to see Dr. Martindale tonight, hopefully getting the go ahead to keep training. I couldn't run even 2 miles on Monday. After foam rolling, I was able to make it 5.7 miles. YAY! Tomorrow I'm supposed to do 15 in the am and 5 in the pm. We'll see if the doc says it's cool to try some or all of the plan.
I'm hoping that after my knee gets "fixed" and the rest of the training goes more smoothly than the first part. The race is just about 6 weeks away. Holy cow, it's close. Dec 7 is almost here!
