Ready to get back to it

If you read my IMAZ race report, you saw that I was injured during the race. At the beginning of October while on the treadmill, I somehow messed up my groin/hip. After resting for about a week with no improvement, I finally broke down and went to the doctor to see what was wrong. I went to 2 different doctors and neither one really knew what was wrong but both agreed that I should go to physical therapy. At Dawn and the doctors' suggestion, I went to Promotion Physical Therapy and saw Dr. Justin Martindale. While my leg did improve, it was never 100%. Justin said it was ok to race on, but that I should limit my pre-race running. I did everything he said and just tried to make it to raceday.

After the race, I waited a bit before trying to work out or anything. When I was finally ready to start running, I found out that I couldn't!! My leg was worse than before. I decided to go back to PT and see what Justin could do for me.

Well, after a couple of weeks of round 2 of PT, Justin and I finally figured out what it was...the joint between my hip and sacrum was out of place. Justin popped it back in and instantly there was relief!! He had me rest a couple of days and do a couple of bike rides. Today was my check up to see how the popping back in held up and if the bike rides did anything to mess it back up.

Going into my PT appointment today, I was pretty confident that I'd get a green light to go back to running. Ever since he popped it back in, my groin and hip felt great! Every once in a while, I'd move weird and I'd feel it, but it was pretty obvious that I was on the mend. When I got to the appointment, Justin checked the alignment of my hips and everything looked good. He had me go through my usual exercises. Every time I did something that used to hurt and didn't this time, I just couldn't get over how much it DIDN'T hurt.

After I did all my exercises, Justin checked my alignment again (still good) and announced that I was done. I've graduated and can finally get back to it!! :D Hooray!
